The choir selected for the Aruba Dushi Tera national celebration is preparing intensively for a historic performance during Aruba’s upcoming national ceremony.
The performance will take place as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of Aruba’s National Anthem and Flag and 40 years of Status Aparte, making it a significant moment in the country’s history.
Members of the choir shared their excitement about participating in such an important national event. Many described it as a unique and meaningful opportunity to represent Aruba and perform the national anthem during a historic occasion.
Several younger singers noted that although they were not present when the anthem and flag were first introduced in 1976, they feel honored to contribute to this milestone celebration today.
At the same time, some members of the choir were part of the original group that performed “Aruba Dushi Tera” when it was officially introduced. For them, returning to perform the anthem again brings deep emotion and pride.
The Aruba Dushi Tera national celebration performance represents more than music—it reflects love for Aruba, respect for its history, and unity among its people.
Choir members expressed gratitude for being invited to take part in the official ceremony and to honor the national symbols that hold great meaning for the island.
Maybeline Arends-Croes, who is leading the choir’s preparation, shared her pride in bringing together both original members and a new generation of singers for this special occasion.
She emphasized that performing “Aruba Dushi Tera” during such a historic celebration carries great emotional significance and responsibility, as the anthem symbolizes national identity, pride, and deep love for Aruba.
The upcoming performance is expected to be one of the highlights of the Aruba Dushi Tera national celebration, uniting voices from different generations to honor the nation’s heritage.
