ORANJESTAD – Aruba’s Minister of Labor, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia, is strengthening ties with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to improve protections for workers and modernize labor regulations in line with global standards.

Following a recent meeting with the ILO’s Caribbean Director, Minister Cicilia confirmed that Aruba will receive technical assistance in three key areas:

  • Introducing a new Occupational Health and Safety Law

  • Establishing systems to resolve labor disputes, including potential labor courts or mediation services

  • Ensuring all labor laws align with international benchmarks

Cicilia stressed the importance of international collaboration in protecting Aruban workers and improving legal frameworks. He reaffirmed that Aruba is committed to a more fair, secure, and transparent labor environment that benefits both employees and employers.
