An Aruba book donation has added four copies of author Rachelle Lue-Goedgedrag’s new children’s title, Y ami awo?, to the National Library.
Children’s story highlights protected wildlife
The book follows Rita, a dove forced to search for a new home after the natural area where she lived is cleared. During the journey, Rita encounters several animals protected by law in Aruba and learns where she can make a new home.
According to the author, the story is intended to introduce children to protected animals, strengthen awareness of Aruba’s natural environment, and expand their knowledge of local habitats.
Four copies presented to the library
Lue-Goedgedrag presented the four copies to acting library head Lilian Semeleer. The donation makes the Papiamento-language title available through the National Library.
Y ami awo? is Lue-Goedgedrag’s first children’s book. Her first published book, the novel Louella, appeared in 2024. In addition to writing, she teaches psychology and works in several leadership and communications roles at Colegio EPI.
