Preserving the pristine beauty of Aruba isn’t just a goal for Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort—it’s a core part of its identity. Through its ongoing commitment to environmental, energy, and social sustainability, the resort continues to lead by example with its impactful monthly beach clean-up program.

Monthly Clean-Ups: Community and Conservation in Action

Every month, Amsterdam Manor brings together staff, guests, and community members for hands-on beach clean-up events. These efforts provide all volunteers with essential tools and a complimentary light breakfast to kickstart the day with purpose.

But these clean-ups aren’t just about removing litter—they’re about creating lasting awareness. Participants learn how to properly sort and dispose of waste, deepening their understanding of sustainability and reinforcing a culture of environmental responsibility.

Earth Day Efforts at Sasarawichi Dunes

To celebrate Earth Day in April, Amsterdam Manor partnered with the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA), Aruba Cleaning House (ACH), Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, and other eco-conscious allies to carry out a large-scale clean-up of the Sasarawichi Dunes.

Thirty dedicated volunteers joined forces to protect this natural gem, demonstrating how collaboration can amplify conservation efforts. While the total waste weight from the event wasn’t measured, year-to-date figures show 159.77 kilograms of trash have already been cleared through similar initiatives.

More Than Just a One-Day Effort

Amsterdam Manor’s dedication to sustainability extends well beyond Earth Day. By organizing consistent monthly clean-ups and tracking their impact, the resort is building a long-term framework for environmental preservation in Aruba. These initiatives are vital not only for wildlife and ecosystems but also for the island’s tourism-driven economy.

Building a Community of Eco-Conscious Travelers

Beyond the environmental benefits, the beach clean-ups foster a sense of connection and shared purpose among volunteers. Guests frequently express appreciation for the opportunity to give back during their stay, while local participants value the united effort to care for Aruba’s natural resources.

Get Involved and Make an Impact

Whether you’re a local resident or visiting the island, you’re invited to join Amsterdam Manor’s next beach clean-up. It’s a chance to connect, contribute, and leave a positive mark on one of the Caribbean’s most cherished destinations.
