ORANJESTAD (AAN) – As part of the celebrations for Ambulance Week, which began on May 18, the Ambulance Department organized a specialized mini-symposium dedicated to its staff. The initiative aims to provide continuous education and elevate the quality of daily patient care. The week officially commenced with a mass service, followed by educational activities on Thursday.
Four specialized speakers participated in the event, including expert Maxwell, a trauma surgeon and forensic doctor. These professionals shared their knowledge regarding the latest developments in their respective fields, providing valuable tools for the daily work of the personnel.
Christel Choennie, a nurse at the Ambulance Department, explained that protocols in the profession change annually, making it crucial to keep staff updated. She noted that every day in the profession is different and unpredictable. According to Choennie, the personnel is properly prepared thanks to constant external training and local continuous education.
Choennie expressed deep gratitude to her colleagues for their dedication and the work they execute 24/7. She also thanked the speakers for offering their time and expertise to teach the staff and help make the symposium a reality.
