ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Tourism Authority recently had the honor of recognizing Goodwill Ambassadors of Aruba, Mr. Bradford & Mrs. Kathleen Slater from Hertford, North Carolina, United States, for their 20+ years of dedication and loyalty to the island. Along with this recognition, Mr. Lester B. Streeter from Middletown, Rhode Island, USA, was also honored for his ongoing visits to Aruba.

The special Goodwill Ambassador certification is presented on behalf of the Minister of Tourism to those who have visited Aruba consistently for 20 years or more, a gesture of gratitude for making Aruba a part of their lives.

The honors ceremony was led by Ms. Keyttin Silva of the Aruba Tourism Authority, alongside staff members from Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort. Both couples were presented with certificates and gifts to express appreciation for their loyalty.

Reasons for Returning to Aruba

When asked about their favorite things about Aruba, the Slaters shared the following:

  • Aruba’s Weather

  • Aruba’s Location Below the Hurricane Belt

  • The Friendly People

  • Quality of Restaurants and Food

  • Aruba’s Safety

For Mr. Streeter, the top reasons for returning were:

  • Aruba’s Weather

  • Aruba’s Beaches

  • Friendly People

  • Aruba as a Relaxing Destination to Unwind

  • Aruba’s Vibrant Nightlife

On behalf of the Aruba Tourism Authority, we express our sincere gratitude to the honorees for their continued visits to the “One Happy Island”.
