OPPA president Ivo Valdez is asking Aruba’s government to publish a concrete timetable for minimum wage and pension improvements rather than postpone the process indefinitely, according to 24ora’s November 3 report.
Pensioners’ organisation seeks wider talks
The organisation called for discussions involving unions, business groups and pensioner representatives, including OPPA. It also urged the government to assess the economic effects while preparing compensation measures for smaller businesses that genuinely face difficulties.
Call focuses on purchasing power
Valdez argued that lower-paid workers and pensioners face sustained pressure from living costs. Those are the organisation’s concerns and policy demands, not a new government decision or an independently verified price forecast. The report does not announce an enacted wage rate, pension amount or implementation date.
