A De Meza complaint against Tax Department director Luenne Gomez Pieters has been filed over alleged false accusations, lawyer Desiree Croes told NoticiaCla in an October 21 report.
Lawyer asks authorities to examine allegations
Croes said the complaint was filed on behalf of AVP parliamentarian Mike de Meza and asked authorities to investigate the information supplied about him. She alleged that the accusations were false and also raised concerns about possible defamation.
Those assertions are the lawyer’s allegations. The source does not establish that the director or anyone else committed an offence.
Director declines comment
Contacted by NoticiaCla, Gomez Pieters said she had consciously chosen not to comment and expressed confidence in the judicial process.
The report does not announce charges, a prosecution decision or a court finding. Whether sufficient evidence exists for prosecution remains a matter for the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
