Hunto pa Progreso permits issued to a first group of 120 people expire during October, Justice Minister Arthur Dowers said in an October 21 report by 24ora.
Statement concerns a specific temporary cohort
The minister was referring to people granted a one-time, one-year temporary permit without an employer guarantor while they sought an employer to sponsor them.
Citing DIMAS records available at the time of his statement, Dowers said none of the 120 had submitted an official request for a guarantor or change of sponsorship. That is a snapshot reported on October 21, not an updated count of applications today.
Minister describes month-end request deadline
Dowers said people in that cohort had until the end of October to submit their requests. He also described a 30-day period to arrange departure for those who did not secure a guarantor or submit a request.
The report concerns the temporary-permit group identified by the minister; it does not establish the status of individual holders or announce that every Hunto pa Progreso permit expires this month.
