Aruba firearms sentences reported by the Public Prosecutor’s Office include a 24-month prison term, with 12 months suspended and three years of probation, in a fast-track case involving a machine gun, according to 24ora’s October 19 report.
Machine gun kept under a bed
Prosecutors said the convicted man had possessed the weapon for years and kept it under his bed. A second suspect in the same investigation is expected to appear before a judge; prosecutors said images of the same weapon were found in that suspect’s possession.
Separate case involved a loaded revolver
The office also described a separate conviction roughly two weeks earlier for carrying a loaded revolver in a bag. That sentence was 21 months, including six months suspended, with three years of probation.
Ten fast-track convictions reported for 2026
According to the office, ten suspects had been convicted through fast-track proceedings for firearm possession so far in 2026. Prosecutors said sentencing requests take account of weapon type, circumstances and prior convictions.
