The Aruba U15 girls began the Girls U15 Invitational Tournament with a 1–0 victory over Colombia’s Formas Íntimas.
Kwidama broke the deadlock before halftime
Both teams searched for an opening during a competitive first half. Aruba had an early attack stopped for offside before finding the decisive goal in the 38th minute, according to 24ora.
Kaylee Vlijt won possession from a Colombian player and continued through the defence after a short pass forward from Maduro. Vlijt then found Natuishka Kwidama in space, and Aruba’s number nine moved to her right before finishing into the corner.
Aruba protected its one-goal advantage
Formas Íntimas increased the pressure after halftime and created attacking opportunities, but Aruba kept its lead. The home side also looked for a second goal, although several passes were intercepted before they could produce another clear chance.
The tournament matches are played over 40-minute halves. Kwidama’s goal remained the only score at the final whistle, giving Aruba a winning start against the Colombian club.
Suriname is next on the schedule
Aruba is scheduled to return Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. against Suriname. The next opponent enters the match after an 8–0 victory over the British Virgin Islands.
