Three people were detained after a Commandeursbaai boat search led Aruba Coast Guard personnel to a bag containing a firearm and a small quantity of suspected drugs.
Assistance call brings Coast Guard to boat
According to AWE24, a boat in the Commandeursbaai area requested assistance during the weekend after experiencing problems at sea. A Metal Shark unit left the Coast Guard support point to respond.
Personnel found two people aboard the vessel. The report said a third person was then seen coming out of the mangroves and moving toward the boat, prompting Coast Guard personnel to inspect the mangrove area.
Bag, firearm and suspected drugs reported
