Aruban writer and translator Olga Buckley will receive support through the Dutch Foundation for Literature for a poetry collection and a three-book series for young readers.
Projects focus on poetry and young readers

She said children affected by their parents’ separation often have little control over events while facing emotions, questions and uncertainty, and that literature can offer recognition and support.

Twelve Caribbean projects supported
Across Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Sint Maarten, 12 literary projects will share €347,063 in the first 2026 round of the Caribbean Literature Scheme. The broader list includes translations, multilingual books, puppet theatre and reading and writing activities for children.
The Olga Buckley awards form part of a program launched in 2024 to strengthen literature and languages in the Dutch Caribbean, including Papiamento and children’s publishing.
