Aruban drummer and producer Siegfried Hart has been nominated for the 2026 Edison Jazz Audience Award for his album Awa.
Awa selected among 10 audience-award nominees
The official Edison Jazz list names Hart’s Awa among 10 recordings competing for the public prize in the Netherlands. The result is determined by audience voting.
Hart’s album combines jazz improvisation with musical influences from Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire. Songs highlighted in local reporting include “Cunucu di Zuid,” “Misericordia” and “Baca Malucu.”
International recognition for an Aruban musician
The Edison organization describes its awards as the oldest music prizes in the Netherlands. The program includes separate honors for pop, classical and jazz music.
Hart has performed internationally during 2026, including engagements in Canada and Curaçao. Local reporting says he has promised to bring his full band to Aruba for a tour if he wins the audience award.
The Siegfried Hart Edison nomination gives listeners an opportunity to support an Aruban production on an established European jazz platform.
