Aruba Parliament has set deadlines for answers and is scheduling pending meetings as lawmakers begin the busy final months of the year, according to Parliament President Marlon Sneek.
Central Committee sets response deadlines
Sneek said Parliament’s Central Committee met last Monday and established deadlines for responses on several matters. He identified the investment ordinance, a supplementary budget and changes to the National Accountability Ordinance among the subjects awaiting attention.
Some meetings have already been called, while others remain in the scheduling pipeline. Sneek also referred to a requested meeting connected to Minister Gerlien Croes and an administrative-law process.
Legal procedures must be respected
The Parliament president said procedural and legal developments must be considered before a public meeting is held on a matter that is before the administrative court or may be taken to court by a parliamentary group.
He said the outstanding meetings will be called and handled through the proper process. The update provides a current timetable signal on parliamentary business after the recess.
