Arubus employees have issued an open letter asking the Government of Aruba and Transport Minister Arthur Dowers for a firm timetable to resolve a salary issue they say has remained pending for more than a decade.
Workers request dates and concrete action
In the letter reported by NoticiaCla, employees acknowledged the public transport company’s financial pressures, including an insufficient subsidy and debt to the tax department. They argued that workers did not create those problems and should not continue waiting without a clear plan.
The employees asked when the subsidy question will be resolved and requested a specific date for action on salaries. They also raised questions about spending on buildings, the San Nicolas terminal, equipment, trucks, and buses while the employment issue remains outstanding.
