The Aruba Youth Council connected to helpline 131 visited the Department of Social Affairs to learn how public services support residents.
The council, active since 2019, includes three young people between 11 and 24 who provide advice to 131. During the August 31 visit, Marceylaine Paskel gave a presentation and guided the group through different sections of the department.
Understanding social services
The visit introduced members to the department’s responsibilities and the services available to children, families and other community members.
The Aruba Youth Council receives support from partners including SETAR, Aruba Airport Authority, Salamander, ASTEC and AHATA.
