ORANJESTAD, Aruba — A new Biblionef Aruba Book Donation has expanded the collection available to babies, children and teenagers at Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, giving young library members additional books to discover and borrow.
Representatives of Biblionef Aruba, Carla van Eerden and Sandra Postma, recently delivered another collection of books to Michelle Roos of Biblioteca Nacional Aruba.
The new shipment includes books intended for babies, children and young people and will become part of the National Library’s youth collection.
Biblioteca Nacional thanked Biblionef for continuing to bring books to Aruba and helping make reading material more accessible to young residents.
Biblionef Aruba Book Donation Supports Young Readers
The Biblionef Aruba Book Donation forms part of the organization’s wider mission to encourage children to discover the enjoyment of reading.
Biblionef operates internationally with a particular focus on children who may not otherwise have easy access to books.
In Aruba, the organization has maintained a longstanding relationship with schools and the National Library.
According to Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, Biblionef Aruba has been distributing books to schools on the island for more than 20 years.
That continued cooperation helps schools and libraries expand their collections while giving more children opportunities to read at home and in educational settings.
National Library Offers Large Youth Collection
Biblioteca Nacional’s youth department already offers books for children of different ages, and the latest donation adds more choices to that collection.
Young readers can explore stories and educational material in different formats.
The library also promotes digital reading opportunities, including eBooks and audiobooks, allowing children and teenagers to access information and stories beyond traditional printed books.
Biblioteca Nacional says membership is free for babies, children and young people under the age of 18, helping remove financial barriers to accessing reading material.
Biblionef Continues Literacy Work in Aruba
Biblionef has worked with several educational organizations in Aruba to encourage reading.
Earlier in 2026, Biblionef Aruba joined Biblioteca Nacional Aruba, Instituto Pedagogico Arubano and Departamento di Enseñansa Aruba in organizing the first Reading Festival Aruba.
That initiative was designed to promote reading enjoyment among thousands of children through storytelling, workshops, creative activities and book donations.
The latest Biblionef Aruba Book Donation continues that wider effort by placing additional books directly into the National Library’s collection.
For children and teenagers across Aruba, the new books provide more opportunities to develop reading habits, discover new stories and use the library as a source of learning and entertainment.
Biblioteca Nacional is encouraging families and young readers to take advantage of its collection and the free membership available to residents under 18.
