Louis Boekhoudt 40 years service was officially recognized by Minister of Infrastructure Rene “Baba” Herdé during a special ceremony celebrating four decades of dedication to Aruba’s public service.
Boekhoudt has built a distinguished 40-year career at the Department of Land Surveying and Property Registration (DLV), where he serves as Senior Landsurveying and GIS Project Developer.
Throughout his career, he has played an important role in advancing land surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Aruba. His technical expertise, leadership and commitment have earned the respect of colleagues and recognition beyond the island.
In 2024, Boekhoudt received the prestigious SAG Award during the ESRI Conference, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to the GIS profession.
He currently serves as Acting Director of the Department of Land Surveying and Property Registration, continuing to strengthen the organization while supporting high-quality public services for Aruba.
The recognition ceremony took place on Thursday morning at Cocolishi, where Minister Herdé expressed his appreciation for Boekhoudt’s exemplary commitment and professionalism.
“The commitment, professionalism and passion you have shown throughout your career have contributed greatly to the development of DLV and our country,” Herdé said.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Government of Aruba, I congratulate you on this remarkable milestone of 40 years of service. We are proud of your contributions and wish you continued success in the next stage of your career.”
The Ministry of Infrastructure also thanked Boekhoudt for four decades of loyal service, innovation and dedication to the Government of Aruba.
According to the ministry, Louis Boekhoudt 40 years service represents a legacy that will continue inspiring future generations of professionals working toward Aruba’s sustainable development.
