ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Influencers Back National Clean-Up Day Campaign by joining Prime Minister Mike Eman to encourage residents to take greater responsibility for keeping the island clean ahead of the upcoming Dia Nacional pa Cuida Aruba (National Day to Care for Aruba).
As part of the national initiative, Prime Minister Eman met with a group of local influencers to share the campaign’s vision and discuss how social media and digital platforms can help raise public awareness about protecting Aruba’s environment.
The meeting focused on the role influencers can play in inspiring community participation, particularly among young people, by encouraging everyday actions that contribute to a cleaner island. Advisors to the Prime Minister also attended the discussion.
Local influencer Dimitri Angela described the campaign as an opportunity to unite different sectors of society while reminding everyone that caring for Aruba is a shared responsibility. He said motivating more people to participate in community clean-up efforts can help create a healthier environment and an island that everyone can be proud of.
Shekainah Daal emphasized the importance of using social media platforms to expand the campaign’s reach. She said combining online engagement with community participation can transform awareness into meaningful action and strengthen public commitment to environmental care.
Content creator Samil Susebeek also voiced his support for the initiative, calling it an effective way to encourage residents to take responsibility for their neighborhoods and dispose of waste properly. He urged citizens to participate actively, noting that collective efforts can inspire even greater community involvement in the future.
Influencer Anouk Eman highlighted that Aruba is everyone’s home and that every resident has a responsibility to protect it. She said collaboration among influencers can amplify the campaign’s message and inspire people of all ages to work together toward a cleaner and more beautiful Aruba.
According to the Government of Aruba, the meeting demonstrated the important role influencers play in connecting information with the public. Through their online reach and ability to inspire positive action, they can help build a lasting culture of environmental responsibility across the island.
The National Day to Care for Aruba will take place on July 25, with citizens, businesses, organizations, and community groups invited to participate in activities aimed at preserving Aruba’s natural beauty. The campaign also encourages additional influencers to join the initiative and use their platforms to promote environmental stewardship and community pride.
