ORANJESTAD – NV ELMAR recently welcomed a delegation from DTH Bonaire, WEB Bonaire and DTI Aruba to showcase Aruba’s progress in smart grid technology and renewable energy.
During the visit, the delegation received presentations and toured ELMAR’s facilities to learn about the utility’s Smart Meter and Grid Project, which has enabled Aruba to achieve 100% smart meter coverage. ELMAR also shared its experience implementing its solar energy policy, introduced in 2012 as part of the island’s transition toward renewable energy.
The visit provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge on electricity regulation, inspections, operations and technological developments while strengthening regional cooperation between Aruba and the Dutch Caribbean in the energy sector.
ELMAR thanked the visiting delegation and its inspection team for contributing to a successful knowledge-sharing program.
