ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The University of Aruba’s Academic Foundation Year (AFY) program celebrated a record milestone after 50 students earned their certificates during the 2025–2026 graduation ceremony.
The graduating class achieved a 79.3% completion rate, the highest in the program’s history, surpassing the previous record of 62%. Overall, 90% of the original cohort either completed the program or successfully transitioned to another academic pathway.
AFY Coordinator Sean Holiday praised the students for their dedication and perseverance, noting that the program helps participants build the confidence, independence and academic skills needed for higher education.
Graduates will continue their studies at the University of Aruba and institutions in the Netherlands, Costa Rica and other international destinations, pursuing degrees in fields including law, medicine, business, physiotherapy, tourism and public administration.
The ceremony also recognized outstanding academic achievement, perfect attendance, leadership and personal growth among members of the Class of 2026.
