ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Melendy Neuman has launched the first book in her “Neo’s World” series, titled “Neo ta sinti” (Neo Feels), during a special event held at the National Library of Aruba.
Surrounded by family and friends, Neuman introduced the book’s purpose and shared part of the story with children attending the launch. The book explores emotions such as happiness, sadness, fear, anger and love, encouraging children to express their feelings while helping parents and educators discuss emotions in greater depth.
The book will soon be available for borrowing from the National Library of Aruba. Copies can also be obtained by contacting Melendy Bisslik-Neuman through her Facebook page.
Neuman is a research lecturer at the Instituto Pedagogico Arubano (IPA). After returning to Aruba in 2012 following her studies in the Netherlands, she became actively involved in promoting the Papiamento language and culture through poetry and writing.
Inspired by her son’s imagination and love of storytelling, she wrote “Neo ta sinti” to expand the collection of children’s books available in Papiamento while encouraging meaningful conversations between children and adults.
