ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Aruba Amateur Weightlifting Association (AAWA) recently met with the Aruba Olympic Committee (COA) to share positive developments, including the official introduction of weightlifting athlete Aurora (Rory) van Ulft as a future representative of Aruba in international competition.
Although Rory lives in Canada, she is eligible to compete for Aruba through her Dutch Kingdom passport, which she holds through her father’s Dutch heritage. Her family frequently visits Aruba and has developed a strong connection with the island.
Now that Rory has reached the minimum age required to compete in official International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) events, she is eligible to represent Aruba at regional and international championships. She is also expected to become part of TEAMARU for future competitions within the Olympic cycle.
Rory is internationally recognized through her outstanding weightlifting achievements and strong social media presence, where she regularly showcases world-class performances.
The Aruba Olympic Committee welcomed Rory to Team Aruba and wished her success at the upcoming IWF World Youth Championships in Medellín, Colombia.
