ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) successfully concluded Safety Week 2026, held from June 15 to June 19, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening a culture of safety among everyone working at Queen Beatrix International Airport.

The annual event served as a platform for education, collaboration, and safety awareness, bringing together airport employees, airline partners, government agencies, service providers, emergency responders, and other airport stakeholders.

Throughout the week, participants attended informative presentations and interactive sessions covering airport safety procedures, airside safety practices, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, airport maintenance, air traffic management, aircraft fueling operations, and emergency response at fuel facilities.

Participants also visited the Gateway 2030 Phase 1B construction site, where they learned about the safety measures and operational practices implemented during the airport’s ongoing expansion project.

The week concluded with AAA’s second-quarter Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Walk, during which airport stakeholders inspected operational areas to identify and remove debris and other hazards that could affect aircraft, equipment, or personnel.

Andry Lopez, Safety & Compliance Manager at Aruba Airport Authority, emphasized that Safety Week highlights the importance of teamwork and shared responsibility in maintaining the highest safety standards throughout airport operations.

Aruba Airport Authority thanked all presenters, partners, and participants for contributing to the success of Safety Week 2026 and reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving operational safety and awareness across the airport community.
