ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Police and emergency medical personnel responded Thursday afternoon to a traffic accident involving injuries at the intersection of Rudolf Arendstraat and Weststraat.
According to the preliminary investigation, a tourist driving a rented Hyundai Creta was traveling down Rudolf Arendstraat when the driver entered the intersection without stopping or yielding the right of way to traffic on Weststraat.
The rental vehicle collided with a Nissan March that was traveling north on Weststraat. As a result of the impact, the driver of the Nissan March sustained injuries.
Paramedics provided treatment at the scene for an injury to the victim’s hand. However, the injured driver declined transportation to the hospital.
Authorities documented the accident and continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
