ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever announced that the first 2026 Supplementary Budget from the AVP-FUTURO Cabinet has advanced to the Raad van Advies for formal review.
After receiving advice from the College Aruba Financieel Toezicht (CAft), the government processed the recommendations and incorporated them into the budget package now submitted to the Raad van Advies. Once the Raad provides its independent advice, the supplementary budget will move to the Parliament of Aruba for further review and discussion.
Minister Wever emphasized that each step in the process is clear and transparent, highlighting the government’s commitment to financial discipline, accountability, and maintaining public trust. The budget reflects adjustments to Aruba’s current economic reality and includes measures to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices due to the Middle East crisis.
