ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Vacation Aruba director Alex Cybul stated that Aruba continues ranking among the leading Caribbean destinations for Airbnb and vacation rental services.
According to Cybul, Aruba recently received recognition during an Airbnb summit in Mexico, where the island was highlighted for having one of the highest percentages of “superhosts” in the Caribbean region.
Cybul explained that the growing vacation rental industry supports many local businesses beyond property owners, including interior designers, construction companies, pool and garden services, photographers, chefs, and wellness instructors.
He emphasized that numerous local entrepreneurs have created businesses and employment opportunities connected directly to Aruba’s vacation rental market.
The Vacation Aruba director also called for the implementation of a formal registration system for all vacation rentals on the island to improve transparency, safety, and regulation within the industry.
According to Cybul, a registration system would help authorities identify property owners, confirm safety standards, and ensure that rental properties comply with legal requirements.
He added that Aruba should establish reasonable limits and regulations to maintain stability in the vacation rental sector while continuing to support tourism and local economic growth.
