ORANJESTAD (AAN) – CEDE Aruba officially opened Aruba Doet 2026, announcing that approximately 130 volunteer projects and nearly 3,000 volunteers will participate across the island this year.
During the opening ceremony, CEDE Aruba director Daniel Tecklenborg described Aruba Doet as the island’s largest volunteer initiative and noted that the program is now celebrating its 14th year.
According to Tecklenborg, this year marks the first collaboration involving FCCA neighborhoods, while partnerships with the University of Aruba continue expanding.
He emphasized the importance of partnerships and community involvement not only in Aruba but throughout the Dutch Kingdom islands.
Tecklenborg also highlighted the growing role of volunteerism within educational institutions, explaining that volunteer and co-volunteer activities are already integrated into the University of Aruba curriculum.
He stated that Aruba Doet has reached communities throughout the island over the years and continues focusing on neighborhood development, local culture, and improving residents’ quality of life.
CEDE Aruba also continues discussions with schools and community centers to strengthen after-school and neighborhood programs.
