The Scouting Aruba Dia di Jorge 2026 celebration brought together scouts from across the island for a day dedicated to leadership, service, unity, and tradition.
Scouting Aruba commemorated the annual Dia di Jorge (St. George’s Day) with an official ceremony and uniform parade involving nine scout groups from Aruba, including Grupo Scout Ora Ubao Aruba (GSOU). The event took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, as part of the worldwide scouting tradition honoring Saint George, patron saint of scouts and symbol of courage, perseverance, and service.
The Scouting Aruba Dia di Jorge 2026 activities began with an organized march followed by a formal ceremony at Wilhelmina Park, where scout members gathered to renew their scout promises and celebrate the values of the movement.
The ceremony included a prayer led by Pastoor Jairo Maduro, reflections on the story of Saint George, and the official installation of the new Hoofdbestuur for the 2026–2029 period.
Among the distinguished guests attending the Scouting Aruba Dia di Jorge 2026 event were Prime Minister Mike Eman and parliamentarian Evelyn Wever-Croes, both of whom congratulated Scouting Aruba for its positive contribution to the community and youth development.
Grupo Scout Ora Ubao Aruba proudly highlighted two important recognitions during the celebration. Iliene Corsen was officially installed in the Hoofdbestuur as HKC Training en Vorming, marking an important milestone in her leadership journey within scouting.
Additionally, Julisa Boekhoudt received a special recognition award for her long-standing dedication and commitment to Scouting Aruba since its early years.
