ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Departamento di Cultura Aruba (DCA) officially launched the 20th anniversary celebration of the national youth arts project “Competencia Hubenil Gang di Arte Aruba” during a recent press conference.
Since its creation in 2007, Gang di Arte Aruba has grown into an important cultural and educational platform supporting the artistic development of Aruba’s youth. More than 1,000 young participants have taken part in the competition over the past two decades, discovering and strengthening their creative talents across multiple artistic disciplines.
The organization highlighted the important support received throughout the years from partners including Departamento di Asunto Social (DAS), FDEC, Atelier ’89, Mascaruba, and Cas di Cultura Aruba.
Gang di Arte Aruba also established international collaborations with similar initiatives such as Kunstbende in the Netherlands and Luna Yen in Curaçao, helping expand opportunities for local youth.
A key partnership with Fundacion Popcorn introduced the philosophy “Dream, Dare, Do,” encouraging young participants to dream big, face challenges confidently, and actively pursue their goals.
The competition welcomes young people between 13 and 21 years old and offers opportunities in dance, theater, literature, painting, sculpture, music, fashion, film, sports creativity, and DJ performances.
For the 2026 edition, organizers officially introduced the theme “Humanidad ta topa naturaleza” (“Humanity Meets Nature”).
Workshops and preparation activities will take place from July 13 through July 21, while the grand final is scheduled for July 22.
Registration remains open until June 8 through the official social media pages of Departamento di Cultura Aruba, Pop Corn Club Aruba, and Dream, Dare, Do – Aruba.
Organizers emphasized that investing in creativity and youth talent represents an investment in Aruba’s future.
