Pastor Balootje Emphasizes the Power of Sincerity Before God
In a recent message to the Aruban community, Pastor Balootje highlighted the profound importance of living with a sincere heart before God, stressing that sincerity goes far beyond mere words — it is about aligning one’s actions with one’s convictions.
“God loves sincere people. Sincerity is important to God — not people who only speak, but people who live what they speak,” Pastor Balootje shared, noting that through the sincerity of one’s heart, the full truth is revealed. A sincere person walks in God’s truth, just as King Hezekiah and the prophet Daniel did, and through that faithfulness, God accomplishes great things in their lives.
Scripture as Foundation
The message drew heavily from Psalm 91:14-16, which declares: “Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Pastor Balootje explained that the sincerity required in one’s relationship with God is on a far higher level than human sincerity, because God knows every intention of our thoughts and every turn of our hearts. “Before we speak, God already knows what we are going to say, and no one can deceive God,” he emphasized.
Sincerity Opens Doors
When God sees a sincere heart, great doors open in that person’s life, according to the pastor’s message. He referenced Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Sincerity is demonstrated when people depend on God, believe and trust in Him, and recognize that everything they need comes from Him. “No one can be independent of God,” Pastor Balootje stated, recalling Jesus’ words: “Remain in me, apart from me you can do nothing.” He reminded the congregation that through Christ, all things are possible because He provides the strength.
Sincerity as a Vitamin for Growth
According to the pastor’s message, everyone who is sincere with God will grow and mature, because “sincerity is a vitamin for growth.” He offered practical examples: a sincere marriage grows and sets a positive example for children; a sincere worker can aspire to new positions with better compensation, because God blesses sincere people.
“Sincerity is worth more than money, because sincerity and integrity were born together. It is difficult to be a person of integrity without being sincere — do not deceive yourself,” he warned.
The Pillar of Love and Relationships
Pastor Balootje also addressed relationships, stating that in life, people may find a good partner, but without sincerity, everything falls apart. “The pillar of love is not good looks or a good physique — the pillar of love, marriage, and good relationships is sincerity,” he said.
He closed his message by referencing Hebrews 10:22-23, encouraging the community to draw near with a sincere heart, full of assurance of faith, with hearts sprinkled clean from a guilty conscience and bodies washed with pure water, holding firmly to the hope they profess.
“Sincerity is the foundation of everything. Where there is no sincerity, there is nothing — no love, nor any value of what a person should have,” Pastor Balootje concluded. “God loves people who are sincere.”
