ORANJESTAD (AAN): The MEP faction has called for an urgent public Parliament meeting to address concerns over transparency in education projects awarded without public tender.
The Aruba Education Transparency Debate centers on decisions by the Ministry of Education and Sports to grant multiple contracts for educational materials without a formal bidding process.
According to MEP, these decisions were made repeatedly and not as isolated exceptions, raising serious concerns about fairness, equal opportunity, and proper management of public funds.
The party also questioned the consistency of the minister, noting that similar practices were previously criticized when she served as a parliamentarian.
The Aruba Education Transparency Debate has intensified due to broader concerns about transparency, including unresolved questions related to official travel expenses.
MEP is urging the minister to provide a full and documented explanation during a public parliamentary session.
The Aruba Education Transparency Debate highlights ongoing political pressure for accountability, transparency, and proper governance in the education sector.
