Minister Arthur Dowers has met with the traffic safety commission to address the alarming increase in accidents and the situation created by electric vehicles such as e-steps and e-scooters on the roads.
During the meeting, authorities confirmed that the problem has gotten out of control and is putting both drivers and pedestrians at risk. Technical and legal recommendations were presented to guide immediate action.
Dowers indicated that the current situation cannot continue and the government is working on a package of measures to strengthen control, clarify rules, and improve safety.
In a few days, the minister will present concrete measures in a press conference, with the goal of restoring order and tranquility in traffic.
