AVP Faction Advocates for a More Inclusive and Understanding Aruba

ORANJESTAD (AAN): Recently, the AVP faction united their voices and hearts with great respect and dedication to observe World Autism Awareness Day.

This day is not just a date on the calendar; it is an important opportunity for deep reflection on how we, as a community, can promote greater understanding, acceptance, and support for all individuals living with autism.

The AVP faction emphasizes that autism is not a limitation but a different way of seeing, feeling, and experiencing the world. Every person on the spectrum brings their unique talents, perspectives, and style of relating to others. This serves as a powerful reminder that diversity is not an obstacle to overcome, but a source of creativity, perseverance, and humanity that can enrich our society.

According to the AVP faction, as a community, we have a firm responsibility to create an Aruba where all children and adults (regardless of their abilities) can enjoy dignity, respect, and opportunities to flourish. Inclusivity for individuals with autism is not just a fancy word; it is a concrete commitment to implementing practical measures in healthcare, workplaces, and all social spaces where people with autism can participate and contribute actively.

The AVP faction reaffirms its commitment to continue advocating and working for:

  • More support for families raising and caring for children and adults with autism, ensuring they do not feel isolated but have access to guidance and practical resources.
  • Better access to adapted education at all levels so that every child can progress at their own pace and learning style.
  • More professional resources in the healthcare system, including therapy, timely diagnosis, and ongoing emotional support.
  • Inclusive management and social programs that recognize and address the different needs within our community.

The AVP faction calls on all citizens, organizations, schools, and institutions to not view autism as an isolated case but as a shared responsibility that requires collaboration and collective commitment. Every action of understanding, respect, and acceptance directly contributes to building a stronger, more humane, and united Aruba.

The AVP faction remains committed to promoting understanding, respect, and equity for all individuals with autism, celebrating the dignity of every human being today, tomorrow, and always.
