ORANJESTAD (AAN): During a routine maritime security operation on Sunday afternoon, the Aruba drug seizure coast guard conducted a control on a boat. A Metal Shark patrol approached the boat for inspection and decided to bring it to the Parera base for further checks.
In cooperation with Customs authorities, packages containing drugs were found on board. Two individuals aboard the boat were arrested and transferred to the Curaçao Police Force.
The confiscated narcotics were immediately destroyed.
The operation demonstrates the ongoing efforts of the Aruba drug seizure coast guard in combating drug trafficking in the Caribbean. The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard continues to ensure maritime security and tackle illegal activities.
