Aruba Anthem and Flag Day celebration:  Food tents and a fully stocked bar will be part of the celebrations for Aruba Anthem and Flag Day, according to organizers of the cultural event planned at Super Do It Center Shaba.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the main location of Super Do It Center in Shaba, where Lyonel Dirksz shared more details about the cultural and recreational program being organized for Aruba’s National Day celebrations on March 18.

The event will mark two major milestones for Aruba: the 50th anniversary of the Aruba Anthem and Flag and the 40th anniversary of Status Aparte, both significant historical moments widely recognized by the community.

Food, Drinks, and Entertainment for the Community

Dirksz explained that in addition to the previously announced cultural activities and performances, visitors can also expect food tents and refreshments as part of the celebration.

According to the organizers, food stands will be available throughout the event, offering a variety of options for visitors. A well-stocked bar with special prices for the day will also be available to those attending the festivities.

Among the food options confirmed for the celebration are:

  • BBQ dishes from Baby Back Grill

  • Traditional Aruban cuisine from Maga’s Kitchen

These food vendors are expected to add to the festive atmosphere while providing visitors with popular local flavors during the celebration.

Special Treats for Children

Families with children will also find activities and treats available during the event. The organizers announced that the first 100 children who arrive will receive free popcorn and cotton candy, making the celebration enjoyable for younger visitors as well.

These treats will be distributed completely free of charge, encouraging families to attend and participate in the festivities.

Community Invited to Celebrate Together

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m., with activities taking place indoors during the morning hours. Outdoor activities will continue from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., offering visitors several hours of entertainment, cultural performances, and community interaction.

Dirksz emphasized that the entire community is welcome to attend and enjoy the celebrations together.

“We invite the community to come and spend a pleasant time with us,” Lyonel Dirksz said, noting that the event is designed to bring people together while celebrating Aruba’s national pride.

The celebration at Super Do It Center Shaba forms part of the broader national events taking place across Aruba to commemorate the island’s 50 years of the Anthem and Flag and 40 years of Status Aparte.
