ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Santa Rosa Weekly Market Encouraged by Minister Wever as the Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, Geoffrey Wever, invited the community of Aruba to visit the Santa Rosa market taking place this Saturday, March 7.

The Santa Rosa Weekly Market Encouraged by Minister Wever highlights the importance of Aruba’s primary sector, which includes agriculture, livestock, and local food production. Minister Wever emphasized that this sector remains a priority within his ministry and continues to receive support through collaboration with various stakeholders.

According to the minister, meetings with stakeholders in the agricultural sector have shown a strong interest in expanding the Santa Rosa market. Many producers and community members expressed the desire for the market to be held more frequently.

Recognizing the positive impact of the primary sector and the growing popularity of the Santa Rosa market, the government has taken steps to make this possible.

The Santa Rosa Weekly Market Encouraged by Minister Wever will now take place on a weekly basis instead of monthly, allowing residents to purchase fresh and locally produced goods more regularly. The market will provide a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other local products grown and produced in Aruba.

This initiative supports local farmers and producers while also strengthening the island’s economy.

Under the new schedule, the Santa Rosa market will be held three weeks at the Santa Rosa location and one week at Plaza Lolita in San Nicolas, where it will operate as part of a Pop-Up Market in the city center.

Officials believe this arrangement will help expand access to local products and encourage more residents to support local agriculture and small producers.

The weekly market also creates additional opportunities for farmers and agricultural producers to sell their goods directly to consumers, contributing to the growth of Aruba’s primary sector.

Minister Wever also encouraged individuals who are interested in selling local fresh products at the Santa Rosa market to register as soon as possible. Because of limited space, participation will be based on available capacity.

The minister congratulated the Santa Rosa department for the work they continue to carry out in supporting Aruba’s agricultural sector and local farmers.

According to Wever, the primary sector forms an important part of Aruba’s cultural heritage and economic development.

The Santa Rosa Weekly Market Encouraged by Minister Wever is expected to strengthen community participation, promote local production, and contribute to a more sustainable local economy.

Residents across Aruba are encouraged to visit the market, support local producers, and take part in an initiative that helps strengthen both the economy and community.
