Recently, Aruba Wastewater Sustainable Solutions (AWSS) provided updates on the new incinerator and its management system. Director Joseph Everon remarked in an interview with DIARIO that the incinerator is projected to be fully operational by mid-March 2026.
He explained that the incinerator will begin processing 70 containers of medical waste, which have been accumulating for more than two years. According to Mr. Everon, the process is expected to take approximately five to six months to complete, as the medical waste is processed regularly to meet environmental standards.
Everon emphasized that this process would not negatively impact the surrounding area, as the project has been designed with strict emission controls to ensure it does not affect the environment or the health of local residents, which is the primary goal of the project.
