ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — The Caya Grandi security camera project Aruba was officially announced on Monday morning by Minister Wendrick Cicilia, together with Minister Geoffrey Wever, Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), and Elton Arends of the Oranjestad Investment Group.

The Government of Aruba confirmed that the installation of security cameras along Caya Grandi is a long-standing need and is now becoming a reality. The cameras will be strategically placed to address current safety concerns and improve monitoring in key areas of the city center.

Under the AVP–Futuro government program, Oranjestad and San Nicolas have been identified as priority areas for development and revitalization. As part of this initiative, a total of 43 security cameras and 10 speakers will be installed along Caya Grandi.

Officials highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors. The Oranjestad Investment Group, made up of motivated investors, aims to revitalize the downtown area, where visible improvements and renewed activity are already taking place.

Minister Cicilia expressed his appreciation for the joint effort with Minister Wever, the Oranjestad Investment Group, and the Aruba Tourism Authority in supporting projects that add positive value to the island.

“One of our missions is to ensure that our city center becomes an attractive destination,” Minister Cicilia said. “This allows tourists to enjoy the experiences that our local businesses have to offer.”

The Caya Grandi security camera project Aruba is expected to enhance the sense of safety for merchants, visitors, and residents, while contributing to the overall uplift and attractiveness of Oranjestad’s city center.
