The long-awaited Carnival season is officially here! On November 11, Aruba celebrates the traditional opening of Carnival, marking the festive start of Carnival 72 with the event known as the “Elfde van de Elfde” (11th of the 11th).
Tonight, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the Hepa DMC Society will host the selection of their Carnival Queen, who will represent the organization during the upcoming celebrations. The election will take place at Punto G Aruba, located at the former Bochincha Container Yard, just south of the DIMAS building.
The lively event will feature performances by Tsunami, D’Nova, DJ Sky, and DJ Rwin, and will run from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. The evening will mark the symbolic opening of the Carnival season under the theme “Caña Kibra den Carnaval 72.”
The queen selection competition offers a grand prize of 10,000 Florin. Contestants, aged between 18 and 28, will each deliver a short speech of up to two minutes and a five-minute stage presentation without backup dancers — showcasing their individuality, creativity, and charisma. The judging panel will evaluate both performance and audience interaction.
The winner will be crowned as the Queen of Hepa DMC Society and will go on to compete in the National Carnival Queen Election for Carnival 72.
This year’s Carnival season will start earlier than usual, with the Grand Parade scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. In the meantime, the excitement continues this coming Saturday, November 15, with the Prince and Pancho elections taking place in Aruba.
DIARIO wishes all the candidates the best of luck in tonight’s competition — and congratulations to the future queen who will take home the 10,000 Florin grand prize!
