Prime Minister Mike Eman recently attended a special evening at the University of Aruba in honor of the 47th anniversary of the Department of Culture Aruba. The night also marked the re-inauguration of Plaza Hubert Lio Booi at the university.

In his address, Prime Minister Eman emphasized the memorable atmosphere of the evening, especially with the presence of the Booi family. The event paid tribute to the late Hubert Lio Booi, the first Director of the Department of Culture in Aruba, whose legacy continues to inspire the island’s cultural identity.

The Prime Minister reflected on Booi’s poetry, which highlighted Aruba’s nature, faith, and humanity, leaving an enduring mark on the community. Through his words and artistic expression, Booi instilled a deep sense of connection between Aruba’s culture and its natural environment.

The evening was one of celebration, recognition, and renewed commitment to preserving Aruba’s cultural heritage while honoring one of its most influential cultural figures.
