Injured Man Found on Road in Shiribana After Hit-and-Run

On Monday night just before 10:30 p.m., Central Dispatch sent an ambulance and a Santa Cruz police unit to the main road from Tanki Leendert to Paradera, near the new Subway in Shiribana, after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Officers initially found no victim in front of the Subway. Circling back, they discovered the scene on the opposite side at the T-road leading to Nuñe. Heading north, near The Good Snack and across from Shiribana 1-A, police found a man—known to authorities—lying on the roadway with head bleeding. Identified by the initials d.M., he was semi-conscious and told officers a car hit him and fled.

Paramedics stabilized the victim on a stretcher due to possible fractures and transported him to the Emergency Department at the hospital. Traffic Police arrived and, together with other officers, began checking for nearby security cameras that may have recorded the incident. The case remains under investigation.
