On Tuesday, September 30, Zulema Erasmus, Aruba’s Minister Plenipotentiary in the United States, will host a virtual information session for Aruban students studying at universities in Aruba, the Netherlands, and other countries.
The session aims to inform students about internship and research opportunities in the United States, offered through the Netherlands-America Foundation (NAF). NAF funding makes it possible for students to participate in these programs.
One of the main opportunities featured will be the DC Summer Internship Program, which takes place annually from May to July in Washington, D.C. This two-month program is open to students of Dutch nationality enrolled at universities outside the U.S. It offers participants the chance to build professional networks, gain valuable experience for their CVs, take courses at respected universities, engage in activities that help them get to know Washington, D.C., and meet influential figures in the city.
Participants will also work alongside students from the U.S. and around the world, an experience that enhances their skills and prepares them for successful careers. NAF provides scholarships to cover participation costs.
The event will feature remarks from Minister Erasmus, a presentation from Maggie Maloney of NAF outlining available opportunities, and testimony from Evanee Giel, an Aruban student who recently completed the DC Summer Internship Program.
The virtual session will take place on September 30 at 10:00 AM (Aruba time) via Zoom. Interested students can register at https://forms.gle/VSdgyvveyRWuG7YL9.
