The University of Aruba (UA) hosted a special evening to recognize its most dedicated students during the 2025 Student Ambassador Awards Ceremony. The event celebrated outstanding student leaders who demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to representing the values of the university.
In her opening remarks, Rector Sue-Ann Lee congratulated the awardees, emphasizing that the university is proud of their achievements and will continue to support their growth. Marketing & Communications Specialist, Janirey Severino, noted, “Our Student Ambassadors embody the spirit of the UA community and bring to life this year’s theme: ‘Artificial Intelligence Meets Authentic Interaction.’”
Students from across different faculties received awards for their contributions to academics, campus activities, and community service. Honorees included: Elangely Valecillos Andrade, Mayleen Geerman, Zurainy Arends, Elvin-John Zara, Josianne Vrolijk, Anthony Sevold, Isabella Tobar, Andrew Wouters, Elisha McFarlane, Lino Castellano, and Edylianne Figaroa.
The university extended its sincere thanks to generous sponsors such as Setar N.V., Royal Aruba Aloe, Wow Cosmetics, Giannis Group, and The Movies @Gloria IMAX, whose support made the event possible.
The evening concluded with inspiring words from Mrs. Thais Nierop, Dean of FHTMS, followed by live music from Touch of Steel, creating a festive atmosphere. The University of Aruba expressed pride in its student leaders and wished them success in their future endeavors.
