Pepe Margo Distillery
To cool off post-tour, we visited this restored 19th-century Aruban home turned craft rum and gin distillery. With aloe-based cocktails and rich history, it was a memorable stop.
Street Art Tour in San Nicolas
We traveled 35 minutes south to San Nicolas and joined a vibrant street art tour led by Tito Bolivar of Artisa Art Gallery. Over 40 artists contributed colorful murals, many of which feature sunrise hues like orange, yellow, and purple—a visual love letter to the island.
Museum of Industry
Still in San Nicolas, we dove into Aruba’s industrial history, learning about its past as a producer of gold, phosphate, oil, aloe, and tourism—all of which shaped its economic evolution.
A Taste of the Unexpected: Alto Vista Winery & Distillery
Who would’ve thought Aruba had its own winery? Located on a scenic hilltop, Alto Vista Winery offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by desert terrain and cacti. The estate sustainably produces sugarcane for its Red Star Rum and raises 10,000 chickens for organic egg production. The wine tasting featured standouts like Rosé, Chenin Gold, and a Tempranillo Reserve.
To wrap up the evening, we dined at Papiamento Aruba, a romantic spot known for its lush garden, glowing poolside ambiance, and charming cigar room—a magical setting to end a day filled with flavor and discovery.
