ORANJESTAD (AAN) – This weekend, the Roly Bisslik Olympic Pool will become the center of excitement, energy, and intense competition as Stingray Swimming Team celebrates a special milestone: 30 years of dedication, passion, and success in Aruba’s swimming community.

For three decades, Stingray has not only developed champions but has also helped shape character, discipline, friendship, and sporting dreams for many young swimmers. Generation after generation, athletes have grown within the team, which has become a symbol of commitment, excellence, and sports pride in Aruba.

The swimming competition will feature nine teams, including five local teams and four international teams, with a total of 185 athletes competing across different age groups and competitive levels. Throughout four exciting days of competition, spectators will enjoy fast-paced races, healthy rivalry, and inspiring moments at the starting blocks.

Participating teams include Aruba Dolphins, Barracudas Artistic Aruba, Bonaire Barracudas, De Dolfijn from Suriname, Giants Aquatics Aruba, Sithoc Swim Club from Curaçao, Sports4U, Stingray Swimming Team, and TypHoon Swim Club from Curaçao.

Stingray will compete with a strong group of athletes determined to proudly represent the team’s colors with passion and dedication. More than medals and results, the weekend represents a celebration of history, sacrifice, and community.

During the past 30 years, Stingray has contributed significantly to the development of local and international swimmers, producing national athletes, CARIFTA champions, CCCAN competitors, CAC and ODESUR participants, and multiple record holders.

The team has built a legacy that continues growing with each new generation entering the pool.

The atmosphere is expected to be filled with emotion, music, pride, and high-level competition. Organizers emphasized that this is more than just another swimming competition — it is a celebration of 30 years of sporting history.

Stingray Swimming Team invited families, friends, former athletes, sponsors, and sports fans to attend and support the swimmers during this historic event.

“Thirty years is not just a number — it represents 30 years of dreams, sacrifice, and Stingray pride.”
