ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Aruban Olympic Committee (COA) recently held a comprehensive meeting with the Fiho Commission of Finance, Government Organization, Culture, and Sports in the Parliament of Aruba. The meeting focused on the importance of sports for community well-being and presented the 2026 management plan.
The COA emphasized its vision and plans for enhancing sports at all levels, not just in high-performance areas but also in community development. One of the key points was improving the management skills of sports federations to raise the overall level of sports in Aruba. Furthermore, the COA highlighted the crucial role of communication and marketing in promoting the benefits of sports to the community.
The presentation also included an explanation of the COA’s financial management, using both local and international resources to support various aspects of sports development. This transparency was aimed at demonstrating good governance to the Parliament.
The session concluded with numerous questions from parliamentarians, reflecting the high level of interest in the COA’s work and the development of sports in Aruba. The COA expressed gratitude to the Parliament of Aruba, particularly Parliamentarian Shailiny Tromp-Lee, for the opportunity to present their efforts to elevate Aruba’s sports sector.
