ORANJESTAD (AAN): Sigmund Werleman, a dedicated farmer from Savaneta, has won a prize of 10 white 1000-liter water tanks (IBC Tanks) from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (Santa Rosa) and WEB Aruba NV. The prize was part of a promotion to encourage local residents to visit markets, buy products and services, and participate in the March 2026 lottery. The winners were selected by drawing a ticket containing their name and other relevant information.
On Monday morning, in the presence of WEB Aruba NV representatives, Ms. Mary-Anne Everon (Secretary of Water Distribution and Customer Service) and Mr. Efraim Rafael Hoofd (Customer Service), and from Santa Rosa, Ms. Carola Geerman, Mr. Anthony Matos, and Mr. Humphrey Croes (Head of Administration), the winner was announced. Sigmund Werleman was thrilled to hear the news, and though there was initial difficulty reaching him, he was eventually contacted and expressed immense gratitude for the prize.
Werleman, an active farmer specializing in a variety of fruits and vegetables, including boonchi, cucumber, and yambo, will use the prize to support his agricultural activities. He owns land where he grows a variety of fruits and plants and has always been passionate about providing fresh, locally grown produce to the people of Aruba.
Sigmund Werleman will soon receive the 10 IBC water tanks, which will help him further his farming efforts. His contribution to Aruba’s primary sector is an essential part of the island’s agricultural sustainability. His dedication and hard work continue to positively impact the local community.
