A total of seven athletes from the Stingray Swimming Team are representing Aruba at a major international Short Course (yards) swimming competition taking place in Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, USA.

In the days leading up to the event, the swimmers benefited from an additional training session at the Davie Pine Island Fitness & Aquatics Center, alongside Elite Coach Gustavo Rasia of Team Azura. This session served as their final preparation before the competition, which is regarded as a high-level and prestigious event.

On Thursday, the Stingray swimmers attended the official opening of the 35th Annual Winter Championships, scheduled from December 11 to 14, 2025, under the guidance of Coach Paolo Inocencia. The athletes are currently training intensively at the Plantation Aquatic Complex, focusing both mentally and physically as they prepare to represent Aruba at their best.

More than 1,200 swimmers are participating in this championship, making it one of the most important swim meets for Aruban athletes. Their participation marks a significant step in the development of Aruba’s young sporting talent.

Qualified Athletes

Men’s Division

  • Xendrick de Man (16)
  • Tyler Richards (16)
  • Landon Laaf (22)
  • Yeshua Maduro (15)

Women’s Division

  • D-Leylah Gerrel (14)
  • Vitali Inocencia (12)
  • Emma Ponson (12)

The Stingray Swimming Team wishes all seven swimmers great success, with hopes that they achieve strong times, medals, and continue to make Aruba proud on the international stage.
